Goal Statement
M.N.F. is a network of small businesses, mentors, and advocates whose goal is to invest in our future by inspiring, teaching, and preparing, the population of young adults and adolescents who may be discouraged due to their record of mistakes, failed opportunities, and any other barriers that can cause hopelessness to thrive. We are driven and focused on the Resilience of the youth and young adults, equity, diversity, Community Sustainability, and Inclusion.
We are non-discrimination businesses and advocates who understand that mistakes and untapped potential can cause a person’s future to become very limited and unrealistic, causing a revolving door that so many from the ages of (but not limited to) 15-25 become trapped. It’s a familiar story but we can build our own village and raise our own OUR way. The hours earned by the apprentices will be TRUE and earned hours based on individual efforts, forcing personal accountability and giving the individual total control of his/her destiny which is usually what happens in life.
This program will not only benefit the youth and young adults, but it benefits everyone who plays a role in the mission. Some of our network members have been a part of the system, their kids and family members, or know individuals with the same struggles. Makaway also provides opportunities for older individuals outside the target age to help the young, give back to themselves, or benefit from the resources and guidance of the program. Everyone benefits.
